Hi Joe,

Sorry, I'm not the moderator. I'm just a member (since over 15 years). I
had just gotten up and still groggy and thought I was reading the Argonaut 6
group mail, because it did say "Argonaut VI".

Hi Rick,
I sent an email with another anti-static solution. It had a photo attached
and I received a reply that it was awaiting moderator approval. It must have
gotten lost in the bit bucket...

Regards, Joe

Good Morning Joe,

Big Brother is always watching and reading.
I am the group owner and moderator.
Eric, W9WLW is the 2nd moderator.

I don't recall any email of yours pending or moderated before but you
triggered one from the moderator with this one.

I wish to reminding people that the best way to end a discussion is to
simply not reply to it.

I have occasionally ended discussions on other groups I moderate.
Haven't had to do so this far in this group.

I have no problem with discussions around how to operate our radios,
especially when it comes to safety. If it gets too carried away, I'll ask
those involved to take it off reflector.

I do have a problem when multiple posts with multiple topics are made on a
topic and not reflected in the subject line of the post. In this case it
migrated from the lost RX/TX to Poly Phaser resources.
At least this was flagged in the subject line and is easy to identify and
delete without reading.

I WILL ALSO REMIND MEMBERS TO SIGN THEIR POSTS WITH NAME AND CALL SIGN, WITH
EACH POST.
(thank you)

BTW Joe, I must read each and every post and this topic has occurred
multiple times on other forums I moderate. But if it is useful to just one
member, then I'll allow it.

Stuart's excellent recommendations not withstanding, I think it's time to
end this discussion. The horse is dead. Let's leave him be.
Later, Joe

PS... I may have an email out there in the hands of The Moderator. (Just who
is that anyway?)

<pre style="font-size: 9pt;"><tt>Connie and anyone new to the
list. The National Electrical Code covers safe practices for home wiring
and radio hook up to antenna and/or a mast.

Technically also, ALL grounds at a house must be bonded, (connected)

together by low impedance connections, such as the wire in a trench to tie
the mast to the house radio ground rod.

The phone box outside has a ground
wire, that point should also tie to
the radio ground rod(s)

The main
electrical meter panel entry point for main wire bus has a ground lead, that
should also bond to the radio ground. Bond means there should be a metallic
connections, wire or braid or strap. Some times a wire is added in a
shallow trench outside the building to run to each of the existing ground
attachment points to completely protect the house.

The interconnections above means
that if one item is hit by lightning,
there is not a massive difference in
voltage between it and any other
conductor. Current can spread out on its way to earth, and less heating is
had in the jointly grounded circuits.

One of
the good internet web sites for proper grounding and surge suppression
information is the Poly Phaser web site of Smithsindustries.com,
manufacturer of Poly Phaser products

In addition to the books listed for radio hams that include station
grounding information, Poly Phaser will give you ideas on safe handling of
grounding needs. Look at all entries in their on web Media Library.
Especially their White Papers discuss common earthing and grounding

issues of concern to hams.
