Tony,
Untrue. As someone sitting at my computer in England I can assure you
that today we are using GMT. GMT is 'zulu' time in military parlance
and is the same time as UTC. Tomorrow we will have changed to BST
(British Summer Time) which is one hour ahead of GMT and again using
military parlance is 'alpha' time.
It's not actually that complicated but I recall from my days with the
army that there were highly entertaining instances of guys rolling up 2
hours early for conferences....
