If it's the same as the Orion, yes the ring/collar pulls off. The way it
works on the Orion: pull off the collar; put on the inner knob with
setscrew aligned with the flat of the shaft. When you put on the inner
knob, push it all the way back/flush and then pull it toward you slighly
(1/8 in ?) and tighten the setscrew. You need a gap in there for the push
switch to function. Confirm that you've regained the PBT/BW switching
function. Finally, slip the ring/collar back over the inner knob.
