You can't get an eraser down inside the barrel.
It is less than a quarter inch wide and very long.
I used a soft eraser on all the other pins but it won't work on that barrel
connector.

I will my two cents worth. maybe it will help.
I don't know if this will work with this application, but a Staedtler eraser
(white eraser) works very well on cleaning gold contacts. I used this
method to clean the contacts on plug in boards. Just be careful of the
excess, but it shines up the gold contacts very nicely.
