I just don't like the word "super" describing the SWR.
I spoke of all antennas having a compromise somewhere, and as it turns out,
SWR is what you compromise a little in order to pick up more bands. I
originally had the 15m SWR at about 1.2:1, but 20m was at 2.8:1. In order
to bring 20m back under 2:1, I had to allow the 15m SWR to rise to 2:1.
(which is no problem for our Ten-Tec transceivers).
Last summer I ran the IARU contest with this antenna and the Eagle - WITHOUT
using its antenna tuner.
That's it. I'm QRT on the subject now.
Hope to see at least one or two of you guys in Friedrichshafen.

I understand it is designed so that it has a sweet SWR spot on multiple
bands, more than usual, and is extremely light weight and the balun has
been carefully designed to not only act as a 4:1 transformer, but also as a
proper choke to minimize common mode current on the feed line. Very
durable,
but lightweight. A lot of thought went into this particular
design, which sets it apart form run of the mill OCF dipoles.
It has super low SWR on more bands than is typical of OCF dipoles, and so
you get the most out a single, wire antenna.
