Ron,
I have found my CORSAIR-II, remote VFO, and 962 PS, seem to have fewer
problems when run daily, than when they sit and the OMNI-VII is used.
Exercise the rear ext. antenna switch and all front panel controls, then one
at a time exercise every connector, plug, jumper, and the crystal filters. A
quarter drop of Cramolin or DeOxIt Gold on the leads will break down any
oxides and help the cleaning action. Be gentle, the CORSAIR-II is still a
good radio.

Well, if I can take everyone's minds off the demise of the Orion II for a
moment.
Short time ago, turned on my backup rig, the venerable Corsair II, since it
was connected to my inverted "L" & I was hoping for better propagation
toward one of the 13 Colony SES stations.
Everything was fine on CW, but when I switched to SSB... nothing. Zero.
Zip. Nada. Further examination shows that my 500 & 250 Hz CW filters are
suddenly "iffy".
I'll be pulling the rig out of the shack and onto the bench over the holiday
weekend. First thought is that I may have a little oxidation on the filter
contacts, and that's causing some questionable contacts. So I'll be pulling
them, checking the leads, & reseating them.
Any other ideas on things to check?
... incidentally, look for me tomorrow night from W3WH's place as one of the
K2M ops. Don't know yet which rig I'll be operating, but it's 50/50 that it
will be the Omni VII...
