That's where (as I understand the story) the "Old Timers" with their "Old Timer" houses/windows had an advantage. Apparently a common practice was to tie a string to the feedline and then drop the feedline out the window onto the ground when they weren't operating. A lightning strike might damage the antenna but wouldn't be very likely to get into the equipment or house.
