This then says the cable & connections used for the battery is good and
the cable and connections used for the power supply is likely in need of
attention. Further, I don't view this to be an issue inside the radio.
Carefully check connections to see that they are solid, haven't heated
and lost contact.
Do check to see that the power supply is not folding up when you turn on
the radio. Although I view unlikely, you could have two bad power
supplies. A volt meter check at the power supply terminals and at the
radio AUX connector is certainly warranted in this case.
