Rick, if you have any way to minimize/block the light coming through that
window, do so.
You need to either:
1. put your camera into manual exposure mode and experiment with some
combination of wider aperture (lower f ratio) and slower shutter speed to
lighten up the equipment.
2. set flash to "on" rather than automatic and let the flash fill in the
equipment
