I am using the 707 with my Orion 2 and the 3.028 firmware and it works as it 
should. Mic gain 55  H/W Mic. gain 4.0 Speech processor 2
A while back I did have a problem with Rf on 160 meters and I swapped the 
mic. cable to the one supplied with the 707 and the Rf went away.
