The Elecraft KX3 is totally an Elecraft design, and it's a software-defined radio (SDR) architecture, plus roofing filters. I know Eric reasonably well, and I can assure you the KX3 is not a "copy cat" design - not even close. And, it's going to be expensive compared to the MFJ and Ten-Tec Chinese rigs, probably in the $1K+ range.... and then there's all of the options.
