I see that the O-II has an internal ALC adjustment, do you mean it does
not have external ALC input for amplifier connections? On Alpha amps we
removed the ALC output about 10 years ago. The ALC voltage feedback from
an amp only happens when when it is overdriven and by then it is too late,
the radio should have been adjusted correctly in the first place.
If the ALC voltage from the amp is set too high, the radio can't drive it
to full output.
Too many problems with ops mal-adjusting the ALC feedback from amps lead
to our removing it completely from new production amplifier models.
