Or you could just push the "DISPlay ON/off" button on the 525 Argosy II's
front panel? That switch has a set of unused contacts which some use to
switch the meter lamp on and off.

Just an additional note for those running an Argosy Digital.... I seem to
remember if you turn the rig off and then on QUICKLY, the display lights
stay off. Rig operates fine. Need them back on? Turn her off, and then turn
on after a couple seconds. Quick, dirty trick to have up your sleeve, if you
are ever short on power.

Would there be enough energy savings, and still enough light,
to have it all ?
