For my Radio club the older Triton 4/544 5 band transceiver is the ideal
FD rig. Simple, functional, FD bands only, no learning curve, and not
expensive. We use two or three of them, with transmit bandpass filters,
and we couldn't ask for anything better, everything considered.
Interestingly, we've never had any failures with any of the rigs in
over 15 years. These 34 year-old rigs are indestructible!:-)
However, nice to know your thoughts about the Eagle as a possible
successor for FD.
