TenTec HF Rig, Power Supplies, and Desk Microphones,
For Sale:
TenTec 585 Paragon HF Transceiver:
The Paragon is a top of the line transceiver that includes a
general coverage receiver. It covers 160-10 meters, including
WARC bands, with 100 watts output. The receiver is fantastic.
It has dual VFOs and many memories built in, along with a
speech processor. Basically, it has about every feature that
a ham could want in an HF rig.
This particular unit works 100% as best I can tell. Since the
rig does so many things, I am sure that there is something I
didn't test, but I don't know what it is (or I would have
tested it!). It has had all updates completed by TenTec.
Cosmetically, it is in extremely nice shape. The front panel
is extremely good. Most all of the lettering is clean and
crisp. This one also has the Giehl chip in it making it
similar to a Paragon II.
Large manual and power cord included for $650.
TenTec Power Supplies:
TenTec Model 280 power supply, 20 amps at 13 V DC
This supply is quite heavy duty electrically. It has 2 pass
transistors, instead of the one that some have. It also has an
ammeter on it.
This one works fine, and looks OK as well.
With paper work for $100.
"Switcher / 25" 25 amp switching power supply:
This is a 25 amp switching power supply in a case that
matches the early Omni series case, with the metal bezel
around it. It is in a case that is the same size as a 243
remote VFO. It has an ammeter on the front, along with
Switch, TenTec logo, and output bulb. The front panel
basically looks like a 280 power supply with a metal bezel,
but says "Switcher/25" on it. It is very quiet, and well
shielded, and does not produce any electrical noise that
I could find. $150
Astron RS-12 A, 13.8 Volt DC Power Supply:
This power supply is rated at 9 amps continuous and 12 amps ICS.
It is ideal for most 2 meter rigs, including the 50 Watt rigs.
This Astron power supply features solid-state electronic
regulation, EMI filter, fold back current limiting for protection
from excessive current and shorted output, and crowbar over-voltage
protection.
This particular supply works 100% and looks the same. I can not
find a scratch on it. With paper work for $50.
TenTec Desk Microphones:
TenTec Model 706 deluxe base microphone
The TenTec model 706 is an electret microphone. It has an 8 pin
connector as used on the Orion, Eagle, and the newer TenTec rigs.
This particular mic works 100% and looks very close to new. $75
TenTec 709A Desk Microphone
Model 709A is an omni-directional dynamic microphones designed for
use as a communications station microphone for Amateur Radio and
other transmitting applications. The unit consists of a die-cast
zinc shell with molded sliding PTT on/off switch, dynamic
microphone element and detachable multi-wire connection cable.
The element has tailored frequency response from 30 Hz to 12 kHz
designed for excellent transmit audio in SSB, AM, and FM modes.
It has an 8 pin connector as used on the Orion, Eagle and newer
TenTec rigs.
This particular mic works 100% and is still in its original box. $60
TenTec 214 Electret "Banana" Desk Microphone
This is actually the mic that TenTec sold to go with the Corsair,
Paragon, and other rigs of that vintage.
It has an electret element for great frequency response. It has a
4 pin plug and pulls its power from the radio. This one works
fine, and looks great. With paperwork for $85.
RCA equivalent to a Shure 444 desk microphone
Although the front of this mic says RCA on it, it looks like a
Shure 444, and has a controlled reluctance element in it just
like the Shure 444. My assumption is that it is a 444 with an
RCA label.
Of course most of us know that the 444 is an extremely good
communications microphone with great articulation.
This one works fine, and looks very nice. It has a 4 pin
connector on it. $50
Astatic D-104 "Lollypop" desk mic
This mic has very nice chrome plating on the mic itself, and
on the PTT grip section. The base is black. Of course it
works fine, and looks extremely nice. $75
Prices do not include shipping from Florida.
Thanks.
