I was surprised that Ten Tec introduced a new HF radio at the annual hamfest.
The hamfest was great and is growing each year. I spoke with the team leader
for the Eagle project and a beta tester about the Eagle. The beta tester was
impressed with the rig and said all of the phone transmissions were given very
good audio reports, but he could not tell the other ham in the qso what the
radio was. That usually brought a quick end to the qso.
The rig looks good and I expect it to perform well. I have one on my wish
list. They expect it to be ready to sell in early October as the type
acceptance paperwork from the FCC has not arrived yet. It was approved by the
FCC.
