While not familiar with the specific FRG 7700, one can always do as done for Ten Tec radios, look for obvious unplugged interconnects, renew the contacts conductance by unplugging and replugging, check for shorted or near shorted or open front end transistor, or by pass or coil open. Most likely is an internal cable that came loose in overseas shipping. Google the make and model for a possible group devoted to this model/ brand. Check on DL mods for typical faults of this model.
