RF can get into the Scout through the power cable. Many owners,
including me, use ferrite snap-on chokes on the power cable.

Of course, resonance in a grounding conductor or antenna issues could cause any radio to have RF in the shack issues. The Scout when used at Field Day one year, had RF in the radio from its own transmissions. This was quickly traced to the jumper coax to the tuner not being tightened onto the female type UHF connectors. That was a good fix, to find that moving the harness wires cured 17m birdies!73, Stuart K5KVH |
