A corollary question, if I may:  I notice that all the switch mode power 
supplies have fans.  The linear power supplies generally do not.  I've been 
contemplating getting either an Astron SS-30M (switcher) or an RS-35M 
(linear).  I like the idea of lower weight (think Field Day) but I hate fan 
noise with a passion.
Do any of the switchers have fans that are relatively quiet or that ramp up 
with load?  Any recommendations?  (Nope, I won't buy both!)
