Hi Rob and all: I've had many different rigs over my ham career and I've found
that the FT-1000D has a superb processor/compressor (haven't found one any
better yet) and is still in my estimation the best sounding rig for lots of
talk power. Like any other rig, one must make sure that the carrier oscillators
are set up properly and then use a great mic such as the shure 444D. Fern
