I was mistaken (I'll defer to Carl who writes the firmware) regarding 
Paragon II clocks being programmable.  I misspoke; I had a 585 Paragon, not 
the Paragon II. The clocks in the 585 were Motorola chips the DST problem. 
(And they changed UTC just like it was local time).
