Ralph, if there are any cables to the display, try unplugging and plugging them back in to clean contacts. When the caps were replaced, are you sure all the solder joints were top quality? Sometimes it is easy to miss that; and I use a high intensity light and lighted magnifier to inspect my repair work for that reason.
