A grid to cathode short was the most common failure for the 6AF4 family.
It had tiny geometry and small spacings to oscillate up to about 850 MHz
in the UHF tuner or converter. And short life from the grid being very
close to the cathode.
If it said "made by RCA for Eico", its was the original tube. Lasted
over 40 years, that's not bad.
