The Orion firmware update STATUS has been posted today and indicates:
Orion/Orion II firmware:
From 11/19/2008: Major release planned for fall 2008. Projected to include peak
shadowing for sweep display, tuning cursor, new waterfall sweep display mode
(all for Orion II only – requires color screen for visual interpretation of
signals). AGC enhancements for RF AGC vs. AF AGC. Other minor changes. Beta
testing of Orion II version 2.041 now in progress. Beta testing of original
Orion version to begin after Orion II beta version testing concluded. Update as
of 1/19/2009: Orion II firmware release is complete and tested. Parallel
version for the original Orion is in test now. We plan to release both versions
simultaneously.
