Ron, i had the same questions in regard to the Orion. i am not familiar with
the Omni VI. however one can key any radio directly in Windows with MixW
thru a serial port (or USB/serial adapter) with the simple switching circuit
in the MixW help file. one diode, one transistor and 2 resistors all found
at Radio Shack for a few dollars along with an aluminum box for enclosure. i
am thus sure any software that will switch on/off thru serial port or
printer port will do for your purposes. i also use LOGic8 and it will so the
same thru the keyer built into the logging program.
