Allan and Ken,A test of extra shielding for the area around the RCA cables can be done by wrapping them in Aluminum foil, then grounding the foil with a short clip. However, the coupling could be magnetic, in which case you need a steel shield. Maybe you can find some steel foil for shielding tests. Some coupling problems are accentuated by hidden ground loops. You might try grounding only one end of the RCA cable and evaluate results. Many audio type RCA cables do not have an adequate shield for RF. If you can find it, a double shielded version of RG 58 may provide a better density shield and fix the problem. GL and 73, Stuart Rohre K5KVH |
