Used Yaesu FT1000Ds are on the market now for $1900. The Kenwood TS850 is much less (get a later serial number). These are both excellent contest rigs for ssb and have very robust PAs for 100% duty cycle modes and the build quality is absolutely excellent; no Ten Tec I have ever operated including the Orion comes close.
