I tried this. Being a very organized type I applied my software test design
skills to the task. Evaluating each aspect of the 6&2 control functionality,
how it was connected to other control functionality. Did an analysis on the
names used (words do help give meaning.) Somewhere at a point when I could
not identify, could not document a rational basis for what had been done
with the 6&2, I gave up.

Excel (or any other spreadsheet can be handy for this.
Make 3 columns.
As you read each function in the manual, put a meaningful title in column 1.
Put the Multi instructions in column 2
Put notes in column 3.
When you've done all this, sort the spreadsheet in ascending order
(highlight all entries).
You will now have a list with your functions in alphabetical order in column
1. Easy to look up.
Finally, post your work to the reflector. Hundreds of guys will use it
