A club was where my Elmer (w1ddj) helped me (kn1zgm). He provided me the use
of an AT-1 and an S20-R and with a long wire fed with 300ohm TV feed wire
from inside my parents house trailer I worked many places. First DX was
YV5AMP You never forget the first one :-)

This is where new folks need to be drawn into the clubs, and under the
watchful eyes of elmers. I certainly benefitted from that when
starting on my station. To me, getting new folks involved in clubs,
and clubs taking that role seriously, is more important than marketing
this or that.
