The Omni V has different sounding audio than the Omni VI and Omni VI Plus.
The Omni V is a analog audio path like the Paragon and Paragon II series.
With the Omni VI and Omni VI Plus the digital artifacts, even when the DSP
functions are not active, are present.

Frankly, having had two different Omni VI Plus radios, a Paragon and a
Paragon II I didn't find the SSB audio from the Omni VI Plus objectionable.

I find it very interesting that when the question was asked that several
folks were quick to offer suggestions of "re-designing" the radio or
replacing filters or making changes to the system. No one seemed to realize
that a proper alignment might be in order and might correct the concern.
