What is the number on your logic eprom? Check the version of U4. There are
two "U5s" in my manual. The one farthest from the Battery backup should be
U4, not U5. It is LOGIC EPROM in the manual, figure 4-19 logic board
component layout.
I had a slight chirp on my late model OMNI 6+. It came with a version 1.03
I/C, but after talking with Ten-Tec service about the chirp, was sent in
exchange, a version 1.02 which completely eliminated the puny chirp and is
best for fast CW. Seems that the 1.03 is for the SSB gang. I am a CW op so
the 1.02 fit the bill just fine.
