FWIW, for 4 years my v1 Orion I/Heil Pro Set (200 ohms) combo has been
100% consistent in my ability to just set AF Gain at 50% and vary RF
Gain till I can just hear the band noise.  This has always given
excellent AF/RF level in all conditions.  This only applies to v1
firmware.
