[TenTec] Omni VI Tuning Knob Speed

Just got an Omni VI, '04 production with level one upgrade done by  TenTec.  
Trying to reset tuning knob speed on CW, but after repeated  attempts 
following the manual's procedure, it stays at 5.0 ratio.  Anyone  else had this 
problem and is there a new/revised procedure?  Thanks for any  help.
