Keep in mind that all TV's sold are required to meet strict conditions of
both radiated and conducted types of emissions. I've previously been
involved with this type of testing and know sometimes it's tough to make the
numbers. Should the manufacturer "fake" the numbers then they place
themselves at great risk both financially and likely having to pull the
products and modify same to be in compliance. Unfortunately it is up to the
complainant to prove the design and manufacturer is at fault. Other than
taking the offending TV to a certified testing lab, it is difficult for an
individual to conclude that a non-compliance condition exists.
The fact that you purchase a TV and experience noise or birdies when it is
on, this is by no means adequate to conclude that the TV is in
non-compliance. Just expect to take additional measures to clean up your
QTH. As to the neighbors TV's...........good luck!
As to their ability to reject interference, there is little protection for
the consumer in this area.
