And that's a valid concern, John.  What I find especially unique about the
Omni VII is that unless you know it is capable of such powerful
communications over the Internet or with a locally-connected computer, you
would never know it by looking at the radio.  Why?  Because everything about
is looks and feels like a "good 'ol fashion" radio --maybe with the
exception of an LCD screen but that just displays information that is
otherwise found with radios having analog meters, Led frequency displays,
etc.  

The only hint of the Omni VII's networking power appears on the back panel
through observation of the Ethernet jack. So, there is no reason to feel
overwhelmed by the Omni VII's advanced networking capabilities.  That
capability is only present when you want it.  Otherwise, have fun turning
knobs and pushing buttons just like you've been accustomed to for the past
40 years.
