Is it intelligible (but just pitch shifted) or unintelligible? Does the pitch change with USB or LSB on the same band? I would guess it's one of: HF getting into the audio; SSB 9MHz leakage in the RF/Mixer board or perhaps HF leakage into the RX which is not fully muted. The answer to the first question would give us more of a hint.
