I'm running both Corsair II's and Paragons. I use a Heil Pro-Set Plus with both
elements and a Heil HM-10 with both elements. I've gotten good reports with
each, and with either element. However, I've got a pair of TenTec 705 desk
mikes at the operating position right now and I've gotten good reports with
them. I'm planning to sell the HM-10. It's great, but if I want the DX element,
then I usually want the headset, too. The TenTec mikes do the job. I've used
them for both casual contesting and DXing and often get a call back on my first
call in a pileup with 100 watts and a vertical. Go figure. I guess I'm just a
TenTec nut. That's the one I prefer for day to day use. There is no best
answer. It's what you are comfortable with.
