So Ron what your saying is that the Orion II is generous in its readings ?

I would disagree.  A properly calibrated S-meter is a valuable tool in
today's ham shack.  It can help determine if directional antennas that you
or other are using work or if they have problems, they can help track down
interference and problems in the radio, malfunctions in a variety of
situations, and help in accurate reporting of band conditions in a
meaningful way.

A fellow I was listening to on 75 meters last night on my Orion II was
showing S9 +60 dB!  I know he wasn't really that strong, but I'm sure I
would have made his day if I had given him that inaccurate report!
