Thank you guys for suggestions,
I will be in my QTH again in a few weeks and will check the taps and do the
resets and will let you know if that will take care of the problem. Maybe will
reinstall the firmware also. This problem happened almost every time we touched
the BW control already by the end of the contest.
And Bill, your MP is rocking and as I said I cannot say OII is better:) The
roofing filter is so essential for MP. Having that installed the MP is
definitely less noisy and much more pleasant to work at than OII. Once I get
the filter problem fixed I will have to do a lot of weak signal A/B testing and
play around with OII controls to figure out if it has any adventage or not.

Exactly. After playing with the Taps setting, I leave mine
permanently set on the default 199.
Lower Taps setting can cause the DSP filter to have multiple peaks out of the
nominal passband. Although they are 20-30 dB down from the nominal passband,
you will still hear them in a crowded situation like CQ 160.

P.S. Tonno I hope you are taking good care of my old MP! ;-)
