I have to agree with Larry on the power supply voltage. I resolved this issue by insuring that the voltage remained above 12.6 during transmit. A slightly higher SWR will cause more current to draw from the power supply thus reducing the voltage, The screen on the Orion is sensitive to low voltages and will go white if it drops too much. Before I went to useing a dedicated 963, my AStron RS35M voltage would drop below this. I had a bad regulator ( not bad but marginal ) in the thing...
