I'm having similar "hearing problems". I elected to purchase SIEMENS CENTRA 
hearing aids and have two of the four "memories" programmed with Heil HC-4 
and HC-5 audio response curves.... see this week's QRZ DX, Issue 2006-48E 
(page 3)for details.
