Merle,
Since you were in the area, I hope you also stayed for the SEDCO (SouthEastern
Dx and Contesting
Org) conference immediately following the Ten-Tec hamfest at the MainStay
Suites in Pigeon Forge.
The conference included presentations by K4UEE on the 3Y0X expedition, K4SV on
CE0Z, W8GEX on CY0AA,
NQ4I on building a multi-multi contest station and a Tennessee Contest Group
presentation on W1AW/4.
Check it out: http://www.sedco.homestead.com/
If you missed this, you missed a terrific way to finish the day after a great
hamfest.
73, Ted W4NZ

Subject: [TenTec] Ten-Tec Hamfest
I want to second the earlier comments about how good the Ten-Tec Hamfest was
last weekend. Also, the
open-house and presentations on Friday were worth the trip for me. The factory
tour was great and
Gary Barbour did an excellent presentation on the Omni VII. This looks like a
great transceiver and
I enjoyed using one as part of the open-house. All of the Ten-Tec staff,
including Jack Burchfield,
were fully engaged with their customers.
The hamfest on Saturday had a very good turnout of sellers, buyers and very
interesting equipment.
IMHO it was certainly better then any of the hamfests in the St. Louis area.
The Smokey Mountain
National Park, 15 miles from Ten-Tec, makes a great background for the hamfest.
If your looking for a great way to learn more about Ten-Tec and go to a great
hamfest I certainly
recommend next year's Ten-Tec hamfest - I certainly plan to go back.
73,
Merle - W0EWM
