Don,
Having owned 2 of them, I'll be one of the first to tell you it is an
excellent radio. Superb receiver, no phase noise, between the PBT and
the Jones filter a separate crystal filter is almost not needed.
Depending on your operating needs the external VFO is almost a must have
accessory. You may find that the PTO may need re-lubed and/or rebuilt.
Neither is difficult to do, and the list archives will give you endless
hours on a "how-to".
At the time the Corsair was TT's high end radio, I'm not sure when
they ceased production.
AFAIK Tentec still will service any of the radios they ever produced. A
quick call to the service department should give you all the answers. I
personally would consider sending the rig to TT for a service, usually
in the $150-$200 range.
I would buy another one without a second thought...as I think most who
have owned one will tell you. GL.......73
