Doug,
Most of the time I use headphones but using the speaker, I'm not noticing
popping or snapping that changes with EQ settings. Here is how I've set the
version 2.033 and it seems to function OK so far.
microphone: Ten Tec model 706
TX EQ = +5 dB
SP = 3
MIC = 52
Power = 100
RX EQ = 3
SubRX EQ = 3
LF Roll off = 150
Transmit BW = 3000
I do notice the audio output through the accessory socket is much higher in
amplitude. I used to set it for "medium" and now set it for "low" and still
have more than enough to run my computer sound card. I'm not concerned
about that, as I'd rather have enough or too much audio as not enough. I
can always pad it down.
The transmit audio sounds good as I hear it in another receiver and the on
air reports are good. Hopefully, N6AHA or another technical and test
equipment equipped user will post the results of the audio, then we can
"see" the results.
I'm not sure if this is the way it was in 2.032, but in 2.033 using N4PY
software and the Sub on the same VFO as the Transmitter, the MAIN controls
the mode and not the SUB. I've got to study this out more. Maybe Carl will
talk about this area of software control on the ORION II.

Anyone else get popping and cranking on recieve if the recieve EQ is set
above 3?
Same thing on the TX audio if the eq is set above 3
Is it me or did they decrease the af levels? Seems like I have to turn the
volume up more.
