You're absolutely right. It's the old story of "be careful what you ask
for", because you might get it :-)
The complaints about the delay in the V2 release for the Orion were getting
pretty loud. Ten-tec released a public beta. It's not "too" beta. It's
just a beta. (What other vendor has released a new software load for a
radio no longer in production recently, much less done it on their own
dime?)
What folks with 2.054B ought to be doing is beating it as hard as they can,
documenting everything, and reporting every bug and niggle -- real or
perceived -- to ditsnbits in at least some minimally organized fashion. All
of the grousing about the beta not being perfect is counterproductive.
