I use the Astron 35 amp here and never turn it off. I've never had a problem of any kind. I use the on-off switch on the radio (Orion) and all boxes are grounded together on strap. Ona very few occassions I have come home and found that a nearby lightning hit has tripped the overvolt- protection in the Astron, but other than that since 1985 that ole beast has been hummin along. There may be some revisions in the supply since then which may change the picture.
