Re FedEx ground, does anyone know how they settle damage claims? In my
experience with UPS, you are basically hosed. When you file a claim, their
process calls for the settlement to take place with the shipper. They
require that you surrender the merchandise in its box to them. They ship it
back to the seller who has to file the claim. At that point, you have paid
your money for something, and what you have to show for it is a little
yellow piece of paper from UPS. On faith, you have to hope that the seller
is honest and will file a claim, and make good on the deal with you. Now,
in the case of Ten Tec, you probably have nothing to worry about, but if you
bought something from some shlub, you may have paid $$$ for a little yellow
piece of paper.
