I thought the same thing. The rig, I think the "AC-1," used an octal socket
for plugging in a crystal and the key. It used a plug-in coil that you
wound for whichever band you chose. The rig used a 6V6 tube and I think a
6X5 rectifier. Mine was a gray open chassis with red pointer knobs, I
think.

Ten-Tec never made any tube transmitter but the TX-100. What you're
describing sounds like the Ameco rig. It was 15 watt kit with crystal
control. Sold for around $30 or so.
