A program called WinMorse 2 can also be used to help. I take text files
that I want to read (even eBooks) and run them through the software at
25 to 35 wpm. to get .wav files. Make sure you use the character
conversion or do a global search and replace on the text, you will get
messed up when you get a quotation mark, colon or some other punctuation
that we don't normally use. When I finish I go ahead and convert the
.wav files to mp3 format and carry them for plane trips, commutes to
work, etc. When you get in a contest you know the format of the
exchange, so 30 wpm on text will generally allow you to work the fast
ones. I own a copy of Nero and use it to do the .wav to mp3 conversion,
but there are probably other utilities to do the same thing.
