You could adapt the loop for use on 6m, by use of a dedicated 6m tuner.
Your present HF tuner likely has higher minimum inductance and capacitance
than you will need for 6m.
An El net tuner could be fashioned that would be adequate for 6m work, as
long as you float the return side of the circuit. Or, if you want perfect
balance, make a double El or even a double Pi circuit for 6m.
The stub length might need to be changed to a different length of coax for
an optimum match.
A simple two or three element beam gives you the advantage on six meters of
directing your signal into the propagation which usually favors only certain
directions, thus the ability to rotate and concentrate your signal is
valuable. Aluminum tubing or construction aluminum from Home Depot could be
made into beam elements and boom. Or for lower power, you could convert
larger TV antennas.
Check out the Handbooks of ARRL from the 1957 period for some 6m tuners
schematics to give you an idea of range of capacitance needed and the
inductors. Remember, you want to match a range of impedances which you
will have to determine either by use of an antenna analyzer or antenna
modeling, if reusing your present loop.
